David Small, Chief Executive of Forest Service, an agency of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD), presented Johnnie McLaughlin with the Imperial Service Medal at a ceremony held at Castlederg Nursery last month.
The Imperial Service Medal, one of the UK’s highest commendations, is awarded in recognition of long and loyal service within the Civil Service. Johnnie, a native of Newtownstewart, was employed by the Forest Service for over 51 years working at Baronscourt Forest and latterly, Castlederg Nursery.
